A box of Dragons from my love

It's been almost a week since I've posted something, but just like most people every so often life gets a little crazy.  Last time I wrote about getting my husband a Valentines gift with some money I saved up, and neat less to say it turn out to be a pretty epic gift.  We went to the Retro stores and he looked like a little kid in a candy store.  He got a chance to pic up some great Japanese imports for his collection.  Personally some pieces I don't see what was the big deal, but a few of them were pretty cool. Especially the really cool golden vinyl robot. I think out of everything he has picked up recently, that is officially my favorite.

As for my self I got an surprise I wasn't expecting.  Two weekends ago we went to our usual flea market and we stooped at our usual stops.  When we reached one of the booths I saw an awesome Sweeney Todd toy figure.  I went behind the counter to take a closer look and that's when  I saw them... several boxes full of dragon figures, but not only dragon figures... Mc Farlane dragon figures.  Non of them are NIB (New in box) figures, but who cares.  Among them there was an even greater find, a Dragonhydra.  That figure alone goes for crazy money, but because we knew the guy very well he gave us five dragon figures I wanted for an amazing deal.

Later on that evening we found out that the collection use to belong to a singer of Death Metal band who's wife hated his Mc Farlane collection.  While it was a good thing for me to get these dragons at a great price, I kind of feel bad for the guy.  I mean, it's one thing to get rid of your collection on your own, but to get rid off just because your wife say so.. it's kind of mean.  Especially if she knew they guys was a collector before she married the guy.  I can't even imagine doing to that to my husband.. that's just wrong.

But anyway... with a week off from my job,  I ended up taking the Dragonhydra and re painting it.  The original sculpted of the dragon is amazing, but the colors looked horrible. I looked like someone quickly brushed on some colors and quickly sent it down the line.  It was horrible.  So my loving husband was very nice enough to help me repaint it, and here's the result.

It's been a fun Valentines.
